More than just a game
For decades our players have told us how much they love the game - 75% of leagues have been playing for 15 years or more. But recently, we've been hearing about something else that's been going on just as long.
The glue that keeps friendships going
Beyond the game, people describe how their league has become the glue for a friendship group through life's milestones - the highs and lows of marriage, kids, divorce, bereavement. Fantasy League often provides the constant that keeps people in touch and keeps relationships going, well beyond the football chat.
After 35 seasons, it feels right to recognise this side of the game - and find ways to bring it more to the fore.
Our partnership with CALM
We've partnered with The Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM). Although they're known as a suicide-prevention charity, their work is more broadly about pushing for a life less miserable - for you, your friends, your family, and everyone.
The partnership is about recognising the importance of supportive conversations and building awareness of CALM and their work. We've included some information below for anyone who wants to get involved on a personal or league basis.
There's also the opportunity to turn your league into a CALM Club - and we in turn will be donating the game into CALM's existing Club groups. More about this as the season progresses.
